IAR&T hosts a low key agricultural REFILS

The Institute of Agricultural Research And Training (IAR&T) tomorrow 3rd, April 2023 will be hosting researchers and extension officers from the Western states of Nigeria to research review and performance through technologies off take on farming activities in the region in a very low key way.

Foodfarmnews gathered that the event is going to be very low key due to paucity of funds.

Findings revealed that many of the states Agricultural Development Program (ADPs) have been neglected by the states' government as they were poorly funded to give maximum performance in their extension mandate towards food security.

We gathered also that the ceremony would be low key as the usual colourful ceremony will be totally absent to showcase

research technologies and their availability to farmers.

But hopefully, all the ADPs from Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun states are expected to come and share their agricultural activities experience in relation to technologies transfer, and impact on food security.

The in house annual research review and research extension farmers inputs linkage system (REFILS) is coming up tomorrow  with the theme " innovation approaches to tackle the impact of climate change and insecurity on Agricultural productivity in Southwest Nigeria"
