Minister visits Agric Institutes, promises support to BOA, others


The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Mohammad Mohmood Abubakar has promised support to few agricultural institutes he recently visited in Kaduna state. .

The Institutes in Kaduna visited includes Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Federal Cooperative College (FCC), National Soil Fertility Testing Laboratory and Federal College of Agriculture and Animal Science at Mando,  promising them a better welfare with improved manpower through training and fund availability to all the agencies.  

These are the words of the minister in a statement signed by Mr. Ezeaja Ikemefuna on behalf of the FMARD and made available to journalists.

Dr. Abubakar reiterated that all the federal government agencies under his ministry would be well funded with adequate training just as he stressed that BOA will be repositioned to ensure grant access for small farmers.

Dr. Abubakar emphasized on the determination of President Buhari to ensuring food sufficiency through backward integration adding that the ministry is collaborating with the Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) to streamline agricultural loans to smaller farmers for proper ultilization across the value chains.
