About 40,000 Nigerian youths have been targeted to be trained by International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in partnership with MasterCard Foundation in various Agric-business entrepreneurship in food values. This was contained in statement made available yesterday by IITA Godwin Atser .
It was
stated that 40,000 Nigerian young women and men are to be trained in agri-food
value chains for the next five years by IITA and MasterCard Foundation
partnership.
IITA is
thereby calling for application from women and men between the age of 18 and 35
living in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna to apply for the training programme that would
give them an opportunity to grow their businesses through coaching and
mentoring on modern farming and value addition techniques.
The
statement added that young people would be exposed to agriculture product
marketing skills, market linkages, and career orientation through job
placements and internship opportunities.
