Preamble

Plant health and crop improvement are essential strategic tools of achieving food security in

Nigeria. Plant health is the state of plants being free from pests, diseases, and other stresses that

can negatively impact their growth and yield. Crop improvement, on the other hand, involves the

use of various techniques and technologies to enhance the yield, quality, and nutritional content

of crops. The combined benefits of these two strategies can immensely contribute to food

security in Nigeria.

Agric Export: stakeholders brainstorm on more foreign earnings

 


Agric experts in both private and public sectors have arrived on a consensus that would enhance better foreign earnings through export of more agricultural produce in Nigeria.

The Federal Government ( FG) has promised to give farmers a total of 89, 512.10 metric tons for the year 2023 planting seasons, just as an association of seed producers wanted the activities of companies selling fake chemicals checked against food security efforts of the Government.
