FG to start food items distribution next week in Niger state...

 

The Federal Government ( FG) through its Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security ( FMAFS) has slated next week for the distribution of grains to vulnerable Nigerians starting from next week in Niger state. 

This information was released after yesterday's meeting between the Niger state Governor, Mohammed Bago and the officials of the FMAFS at their Area 11, secretariat office in Abuja.

These food items are meant to cushion the effect of hardship on the people in the country and  Niger state has been picked as a starting point. 

The items of grains to be distributed as being instructed by President Tinubu are maize, millet and any other grain found in the national strategic reserves saying the gesture was meant to ameliorate the food price inflation in the country.

Governor Bagu of Niger state has indicated the readiness of his government to support the FG food distribution with 120 trucks of food items for effective give away.

Also the Minister of Agriculture, Sen Abubakar Kyari assured Nigerians that the food distributions process will adhere to the established guildelines by the National Emergency Management Agency and the office of Nation's security Adviser for transparency and equity in the allocation across the states.
