AFAN president describes naira redesign a game changer

The National President, All Farmers Association of Nigeria AFAN, Arch. Ibrahim Kabiru has described the Buhari Naira redesign as a strategy to reposition the nation's economy towards enhanced food security, and to checkmate insecurity.

Kabiru disclosed this during an exclusive chat with Foodfarmnews  at the just concluded national livestock program organised by the Kano state Government in Abuja.

The farmers' president  explained that the current  hardship being faced by Nigerian farmers, and other people in the country may soon be a thing of the past as this currency swap was an effective strategy to halt kidnapping and other anti  economy vices presently confronting the country as farmers are prevented from going to farms.

According to him " Farmers are really in trouble, many of them do not have bank accounts, and even internet transfer is sometimes difficult to access. But however the currency redesign has its own very good side to the economy"

He went further to say that the currency swap is a "game changer" just as in abroad where monetary policy put limits to the amount of cash one can withdraw a day from the bank, adding this is how vote buying can be checkmated.

He added " This singular action can be the game changer. Even the politicians who use money to entice people will not be able to do such because there is no money to that effect. This is what happens in the United States as there is a limit to what you can spend into political office. In England in 1992, you couldn't take more than 1000 Pounds on the counter. I personally experienced it. I gave someone N1000 here and I was supposed to get 1200 in England in return. But I was denied because of their monetary policy then "

AFAN president advised that the media should help to push this narrative, saying that's how our economy can be made better from its present bad state when people are not allowed to move about with a huge amount of money"

He also advised his members to become more disciplined in spending with an effective bank account record to practice climate smart agriculture.
