The combined delegation leader of Federal Capital Territory Agricultural Development Programme (FCT-ADP) and Agric and Rural Development (ARDS), Mr. Yahaya Hussaini, has described the agricultural template implementation strategies of Ogun state agricultural programme as very superb to others with a wide margin saying the broiler and fisheries project would be replicated by them. Mr. Yahaya Hussaini, a director of Planning, research and statistics at ARDS said this during a visit to under-study Ogun state agricultural programme last week at Abeokuta.

Hassaini who submitted that FCT would replicate the broiler and fisheries projects of the state to mitigate unemployment among the youths in the capital territory and also to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) adding that ‘’ we are here because of the various success stories of Ogun state in terms of Agriculture. It was indeed a fruitful visit, we have being to other states but what we saw in Ogun state is a wide margin, and we came to the conclusion that agriculture is the way out of our challenges’’

The team visited among others the Ajegunle farm settle, Odeda farm Institute, Anchor Borrower fields and Ikenne farm settlement as a way of understudying in order to copy an idea that could enhance the agricultural programme in the FCT for job and wealth creation using agriculture as a tool.

In his response to the visitors, the Agric Commissioner for Ogun state, Dr. Samson Odedina said that Agriculture in Nigeria would perform better if ideas were borrowed and inter changed  in a very mutual manner among the states of the Federation saying that ‘’ it is interesting that you came to know how we handle our projects. People from other states also came last year and we will also visit some states to learn from them. I thank you for choosing to come and tap from the wealth of experience of the state; Ogun is not a ‘’ know it all state’’. We are also open and ready to collaborate and learn from others’’

Among the visiting team are; Yahaya Hussaini, Ndaya Muhammed Yelwa, head of Extension, FCT-ADP and Shola Badejo, Chief Agric Officer, ARDS
