Oilpalm: states’ election slates for April says President



The new elected President, National Palm Produce Association of Nigeria (NPPAN Mr. Alphosus Inyang has said the election into the states’ chapter would be conducted between now and April, 2020 as town hall meetings would soon commence for more awareness creation.
Mr. Alphosus Inyang stated this in a statement made available to us after his inauguration along with other elected executives by the representative of the apex body, Agricultural commodity associations, Nigeria, Prince Peter Bakare.

Inyang who advocated for the review of the Association’s constitution in order to be able to tackle some of its challenges stated that the election into the post of states’ chapter would be immediately held by April to keep the Association running at the grassroots towards more economic impacts for members and entire nation. He said that town hall meetings would be held in all the twenty four oil palm producing states for awareness sensitization for the reawakening of the produce for more economic value and job creations at all the value chains.

The New President who solicited for suggestions and ideas to move the Association forward assured all members an open door policy that would assist to develop the capacity of the oil palm productivity for both local and international markets in a very competitive way.

He promised to collaborate with all the major partners like Federal Ministry if Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Nigerian Institute for Oilpam Research ( NIFOR), Raw Material Research Development Council ( RMRDC), Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) Standard Organization of Nigeria ( SON) National Food& Drug Agency ( NAFDAC) adding that NIFOR as agreed to organize 2 weeks training for NPPAN’s members on Nursery operation.
