Nigerian Agribusiness Group To Hold 1st Annual General Meeting

Established as a solution to drive inclusive-sustainable development and growth of agribusiness across Nigeria and beyond, the Nigerian Agribusiness Group is set to hold its first Annual General Meeting for the year 2015.

A key feature of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA), the NABG through the joint effort of its Executive Leadership Group (ELG) has been structured to serve as an “all inclusive private sector” group representing the interest of stakeholders across the entire agricultural value chain.

With completion of the originating commission of the ELG, the meeting which is scheduled to hold on the 13th of August, 2015 by 10:00am, at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos, is open to attendance by all the members of the group as contained in its constitution involving the following category of membership – a. Group Membership b. Affiliate Membership c. Honorary Membership d. Founding Members (ELG) Group.
Membership Entities eligible for group membership shall be national groups representing a specific industry, sector or subsector, regional business groups, NGO’s and other similar organizations such as cooperatives.
Honorary Membership – any person or persons of good character who has achieved recognized national or international distinction in any agricultural field may be elected to Honorary Membership into the Association. An Honorary Member shall have all privileges of membership, except those of voting and holding elective office.

Affiliate Membership – the Executive Council may enter into affiliation, franchise or other agreements or arrangements with anybody in accordance with its Bylaws.
Founding Members – the founding members formally called the Executive Leadership Group are Individuals with running agribusinesses selected from the various segments of the value chain. They make up the Pioneer Executive Council.

Irrespective of the government in power, the vision of the NABG is to enable the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of the entire agriculture value chain, ensure food security and position agribusiness as a key driver for growth in the Nigerian economy.
