The newly elected President of National Cashew Association
of Nigeria (NCAN) Hon. Ojo Joseph Ajanaku has promised to reposition the
association with strategic mechanism to regulate the produce in the market.
After his victory in an election conducted by the board
members of the association under the watch of Federal Ministry of Investment,
Trade and Industry (FMITI) and Federation of Agricultural Commodity Association
Nigeria (FACAN) officials, the elected Ajanaku promised to take the association
to an enviable height as he would open a national secretariat office complex
with various departments saying a measure would be put in place to checkmate foreign
influence in the sub-sector markets.
The new president who hails from Edo State may have taken over
from Mr. Tola Faseru who Food Farm News learnt
has sought an injunction from the court of law demanding restrain on election
into any executive post of this association even as the majority of the
association members believed that the former president had over stayed after
eight years in an office without ready to conduct an election.
