FG employs 200,000 graduates as teachers, agric workers

The Federal Government said it has employed 200,000 graduates to serve as teachers and agricultural extension workers throughout the country.

Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on media, Laolu Akande revealed this at the second presidential Economic Communication Workshop in Abuja.

Akande said the graduates are expected to work for two years and will be paid N30,000 monthly.
 He said; “We have selected 200,000 graduates out of 500,000. This is the first batch,”.
 
“One hundred and fifty thousand will work as teachers while 50, 000 will work as extension workers.
“Their pay which is 30, 000 per month, will go directly into their account.‎”

Akande also said the employees will be supervised by their various local governments while working in their states.

He further said another batch of the programme will be embarked upon soon.
