Nigeria has been tipped to become the leading
manufacturing nation in the world. This was part of the statement made
by the President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr.
Frank Jacobs in Lagos.
Jacobs was speaking at the press conference heralding the 3rd Nigeria Manufacturing Trade Fair featuring mPAD (Manufacturing Partnerships for African Development). According to him, the nation is embodied with the potentials to rank high in manufacturing circles.
He therefore noted that the the trade fair which is billed to have over 2,000 attendees are expected to attend with 100 exhibitors will mark a ‘new era of manufacturing in Nigeria.’
The czar of MAN therefore called on Nigerians to purchase Made-In-Nigeria products to encourage local market and distribution chain.
Also speaking at the press conference was the Organiser, Russel Hughes. He noted that the trade fair is set “to correct perception on quality of Nigerian products aid increase in locally manufactured products for exports”.
The trade fair which is in its third year is the “official annual meeting place and procurement event for the 2,000 invited MAN members who are investing in new technology that will modernise their manufacturing capabilities in accordance with the Nigerian Industrial Plan Revolution (NIRP). Nigerian Manufacturing Expo is where Nigerian manufacturers come to evaluate and purchase new manufacturing machinery.
“The objective of the trade fair, co-located mPAD round table discussions and free training sessions will be to increase local production, support job creation and ultimately stimulate the growth and diversification of the Nigeria economy for self-reliance and export of non-oil and gas products.”
