NALDA, Arzikin Noma Roll Out Mega Farm for Food Security in Kwara

In a bold move to boost food security and modernize agriculture, the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) has signed a strategic partnership with private agribusiness firm, Arzikin Noma, to establish the Renewed Hope Mega Farm in Ora, Kwara State.

The landmark agreement was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that outlines joint responsibilities for financing and managing the mega farm, an initiative under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Engr. Cornelius Adebayo, Executive Secretary of NALDA, described the project as a cornerstone of President Tinubu’s agricultural transformation strategy.

“This mega farm is part of our plan to create fully serviced agricultural clusters across Nigeria. Each cluster will span at least 5,000 hectares and include modern infrastructure like hostels, warehouses, admin blocks, police posts, and mechanization hubs,” Adebayo stated.

He explained that under the partnership, NALDA will provide the infrastructure, while Arzikin Noma will supply inputs and manage production operations, ensuring sustainability from planting to harvest.

“As Mr. President puts it, this is the era of ‘sexy agriculture,’ and NALDA is leading the way,” he added.

The Renewed Hope Mega Farm in Ora is one of the first of several sites already operational. Additional agricultural clusters have launched in Ilawe, Ekiti State, and Bauchi State, with over 8,000 hectares cleared and ready for cultivation.

Arzikin Noma’s Managing Director, Michael Adeshola, described the collaboration as a transformational leap for Nigerian agriculture.

“We are taking a big bet on Nigeria. This partnership moves us away from subsistence farming and into a new era of commercial-scale food production. It’s about food sovereignty, job creation for youth and women, and reducing our dependence on food imports,” Adeshola said.
