AFAN President: Appeal Court upholds Dr. Mudi Farouk

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja yesterday ruled in favour of Dr. Mudi Farouk as the legal president of the All Farmers' Association of Nigeria (AFAN) thereby consolidating the Federal High Court's initial judgement of 2022.

In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Danjuma, the appellate court upheld that Ibrahim’s appeal lacked merit as the three-member panel dismissed the two issues raised by him, and ruled in favor of Mudi Farouk as the  recognized AFAN president.

The appellate court not only upheld the Federal High Court’s ruling of March 24, 2022  which removed Ibrahim from office, but also awarded him a penalty of ₦200,000 that will be paid to Farouk.

Meanwhile, Architect Ibrahim has ordered that his lawyer should proceed to Supreme Court to challenge the ruling thereby asking his members to remain calm and be peaceful as they go about their activities.

Ibrahim said that "Our lawyer just informed me that the judges at the court of Appeal dismissed our appeal and upheld the decision of the Federal High Court.

We will proceed to the Supreme Court to seek justice. I urge everyone to stay calm and go ahead with their normal activities while our lawyers file the necessary papers for the Supreme Court. I have asked our lawyers to promptly proceed with the matter"

  1. It is regrettable that AFAN as a body of organised Nigeian farmers, has now become a one man show, for over 10 years now. , it is non existent as body of farmers association. May, God help us. Ameen.
