Food Loves Tech to Showcase Technology from the Fields to the Future

See what’s new and upcoming in food tech with this year’s inaugural Food Loves Tech expo in New York City on June 10–12.
The inaugural Food Loves Tech Expo, June 10–12, invited guests to see just how technology is transforming the food system. Hosted by Edible Holdings and VaynerMedia, the exhibition in New York City’s West Chelsea neighborhood aims to showcase technology for sustainability, development, healthy eating, and more with a diverse audience of chefs, restaurateurs, authors, and entrepreneurs in attendance.

With a 20,000 square-foot warehouse space, opening night events, and a two-day expo to follow, Food Loves Tech will give the public a chance “to see, smell, touch, and taste the technologies that are transforming our food culture,” according to Edible Manhattan Editor-in-Chief Brian Halweil.

Food Loves Tech is arranged into four main exhibits highlighting different food environments, complete with workshops and vendors: the "In the Home" exhibit will feature an intelligent indoor gardening system from the expo’s technology partner, Grove; the "In the City" exhibit will place guests in an innovative urban setting of healthy food delivery, vertical agriculture, and more; the "In the Field" exhibit will take attendees on an exploration into a new generation of farming, with innovations supporting food system sustainability and tackling issues like feeding a growing population; and the fourth exhibit, "On the Horizon," will showcase future opportunities for a whole new way to approach food.

Food Loves Tech will kick off on June 10 with an opening night reception, including an experiential dining event with three courses based on each guest’s individual food biography. Attendees will receive their personalized food ID thanks to the food discovery app Ingredient1. Tickets are still available online.
