FG, IAR&T to partner for kenaf production

The Federal Government through her Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will be partnering the Institute of Agricultural and Teaching (IAR&T) Moor plantation towards ensuring increase in the Kenaf crop for further commercial production of jute bags and other deveriatives.


The Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh has said that the government was very passionate to ensure the commercial production of jute bags for better packaging of agricultural produce using kenaf crop promising provision of processing machines to ensure this would be provided for IAR&T.

Chief Audu Ogbeh speaking at the National Agric show centre, Tundu Wada, Nazarawa state said his Ministry would soon pay a visit to IAR&T to ascertain the level of support they might need to ensure this lamenting the production of jute bags has almost gone into extinction in the country pointed that the trend must be reversed towards ensuring availability of jute bags for packaging of agricultural produce.
