The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), Cornelius Adebayo, has reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Adebayo made this declaration during a capacity-building workshop for NALDA State Coordinators drawn from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, held in Abuja. The workshop, themed “Leading Nigeria’s Agricultural Revolution: Steering NALDA Towards Excellence (From Vision to Abundance, Creating Strategic Alignment to Drive Results and Scale Impact),” was aimed at strengthening coordination and enhancing performance across the Authority’s nationwide operations.
He urged the coordinators to align with NALDA’s 2031 Strategic Vision, stressing that their role is critical to achieving the Authority’s mandate of ensuring food security and sovereignty for the country.
According to Adebayo, the retreat was organised to foster synergy between the headquarters and state offices, noting that any disconnect could hinder effective implementation of projects and programmes. He explained that a similar retreat had recently been held for directors and heads of departments to ensure institutional alignment at all levels.
Highlighting the importance of the coordinators, Adebayo described them as key drivers of NALDA’s initiatives, as they are responsible for executing projects within their respective states and the FCT. He charged them to adopt a renewed mindset and see themselves as agents of change in the ongoing effort to reposition Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
“You are at the centre of the execution of NALDA’s projects. I urge you to leave this retreat with a new mindset that you are part of a new beginning to transform Nigeria’s agricultural sector,” he said.
He added that with collective dedication and strategic alignment, NALDA remains central to building a prosperous and food-secure Nigeria.
