Balanga Local Gov. Chair attributes Food Security to Peaceful Co-Existence



The Chairman, Balanga Local Government Area in Gombe State, Mr.  Ibrahim Salihu Population has attributed the area's food security to the peaceful co-existence among the residents.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Food Farm News during a visit, Mr. Ibrahim Salihu Population emphasized that the prevailing peace in the local government area has enhanced a conducive farming and agricultural activities to his council area.

According to Mr. Population "Peaceful co-existence is the backbone of our food security. When people live in harmony, they are more likely to focus on their farms and businesses, leading to increased food production"

The Chairman noted that Balanga has been experiencing peace relatively, which he said has enabled farmers to cultivate their lands without fear of violence or displacement.

"Our farmers can now access their farms without any hindrance, and this has resulted into increased food production" he said.

He commended the residents for their tolerance and understanding, saying this has contributed significantly to the peaceful atmosphere.

Population therefore urged everyone to continue living in peace and harmony, as this is the only way we can ensure food security and economic growth.

The Chairman also acknowledged the efforts of security agencies and traditional leaders in maintaining peace in the area saying that  “Balanga Local Government Area is known for its rich agricultural land and a major contributor to Gombe State's food basket"

Speaking in line with Mr. Population, an Agric expert in the area, Mr. Nasiru Baba aligned that the peaceful co-existence is essential for food security.
