The Nigerians Agricultural Insurance Corporation ( NAIC) leadership has expressed her sympathy to livestock farmers who are recently affected by the Anthrax disease in the country.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the Managing Director ( MD)/CEO of NAIC, Mrs Folashade Joseph showed concern on the negative impact of the disease outbreak on the farmers' income and advised the need for insurance cover to mitigate future losses.The statement said that " Mrs Folashade Joseph was concerned about the outbreak of Anthrax disease and its negative effects on the income of livestock farms and the risk to fellow Nigerians who might unknowingly be affected" Mrs. Joseph advised the general public on why they must take an agricultural insurance policy very seriously to mitigate losses.
The statement signed by Assistant General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Magdalene Omosimua stated that the NAIC MD also called on the farming communities and entrepreneurs to be alerted of impending flood across the country, saying they must be ready to use best practices including agricultural insurance cover to reduce losses. sympathized with the livestock farmers who had lost a fortune in their farms as a result of the recent outbreak.
