Agric staff asks Tinubu technocrat as minister


The staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) has demanded that the next minister of Agriculture must be a person of an indepth knowledge about the sector.

This was the view of many FMARD workers who expressed their opinions on who would be the next Agric Minister to Food Farm News


Majority of them wanted President Bola Tinubu to consider the peculiarities of the ministry to appoint a man with vast knowledge about the sector like the case of former Minister, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, now African Development Bank president.


They expressed that the President should give priority to the ministry by ensuring that a technocrat with deep understanding of the sector was this time appointed in order to move the food systems development forward.


Many of the staff who pleaded anonymity expressed that President  Tinubu should keep to his promises of employing capable hands into the affairs of the nation, saying the appointment of a technocrat to the Agric ministry would be the best for food development in Nigeria.


They complained that many things are yet to be done to enhance food development and security in Nigeria which a man of better understanding of the sector would better handle than just any politician. 


They however pledged readiness to support whoever is put in charge of the food ministry saying that such a person must be expected to make food production the renewed hope of the nation towards job and wealth creations for millions of youths in Nigeria.
