FG officials storm Fed. College Agric, Ibadan today

The Federal Government (FG) has yesterday sent out its fresh team to the College of Agriculture (FCA), Moorplantation, Ibadan to put under control the violent activities that has led to halting people and destruction of properties of the school and individuals. All this happened during a peaceful demonstration that turned to be violent due to the policemen approach.

Food farm news correspondent reliably gathered that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) officials will return today to FCA after an emergency meeting held yesterday between the management and the labour union of the same ministry based on violent break down of law and orders in the college.

Until this week Monday gory violence between the students and the policemen, last week, the FMARD officials were at the college promising to release the outcome of their finding in two weeks’ time which is expected to lapse next Wednesday 29^th, November.   

Another team has yesterday left for the college that will arrive Ibadan today. A source who was a part of the meeting confirmed that the FG was already aware of the gory incident, and has sent out a team, who are already on their way to the college for further investigations as regards the conflict that has degenerated to maiming of human beings and destruction of properties by the students and policemen engagement.

Our source pointed that a team just returned last week from fact findings through the questionings of both the college management and the staff union, adding that the two parties had come to an agreement of allowing peace, while the provost was warned not to ever involve the policemen again in any matter of the school. “It is a great a great surprise to see that the issue on ground had resulted into violence of this magnitude”

However, the latest development yesterday at the college has revealed by our source was that more damages are being carried out in the college by the students who are grieved at the non-release of arrested five students by the policemen and non-appearance of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry as promised on Monday.

According to our anonymous source “sir thing are really getting out of control now. Information reaching me now has it that our students have destroyed and broken all the glass louvers in our administration building our college. The reason according to them was that the police have refused to release the arrested five students yesterday. What I heard this morning was that the Permanent Secretary had called the Provost to secure their release, but they said the man has not shown up since despite several calls from the students. They claimed that the police are torturing the five students and they want to charge them to court tomorrow”
