Brazil has the greatest farmland capacity in the world, with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) projecting the total potential arable land within the vast tropical savanna region known as the Cerrado at over 200m/ha (494.2m/acres) alone; yet only 50m/ha (20.2m/acres) is currently being used.
