Seeds Adoption: Nigeria needs over 300 thousand metric tons for 2024 food surplus


The Federal Government ( FG) has said that a total of 312,555.96 metric tons of certified seeds in five major grain crops will be needed to produce sufficient food grains of 31 million Metric Tons (MT) just as the National Assembly has raised the need for seed sector development.

Wheat seeds: Stakeholders query import for dry season planting

                                          

Some stakeholders in the wheat value chain have raised concern over the Federal Government ( FG) wheat seeds imported for dry season farming in view of the recently released varieties by Lake Chad Research Institute ( LCRI).
