AFAN leadership: Appeal Court adjourns case till next year

The Appeal Court of Abuja has postponed ruling on All Farmers of Nigeria ( AFAN) leadership till March , 2025.

This court pronouncement was contained in a signed memo dated 10th, June, 2024 and circulated to us by AFAN leadership yesterday.

It was written in the memo that " the Court of Appeal sat in Abuja 10th, June, 2024, but the appellants were absent, so the case was adjourned hearing the matter till 6th March, 2025"

The memo read further that " There was the promise from the court that if more appeal panels were successfully constituted the hearing could be moved forward. In the meantime, I implore you to go ahead with executing your responsibility as farmers' leaders until you hear from us"

Recall that the case came up last January 11, 2024  where the counsels for both parties were demanding orders for their applications.

The respondent's counsel had asked the court to order an injunction restraining the appellants from parading himself as Association leader while the Appellant's counsel through his application also asked that the Court  should stay execution of the Trial Court.

However, the Court refused to hear both applications on the ground that hearing the same would amount to delving into the substance of the Appeal.
