Our MSME 5yrs plan will rescue 40m, address economic challenges, says Dr. Akinyemi.


The chairman, Board of Trustee (BOT),  Forum of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Business Membership Organization of Nigeria (MSME),  Dr. Olajide Akinyemi has unveiled the new economic plan to rescue over forty million Nigerians from poverty through strategic empowerment policy as economic challenges is planned to be adequately tackled for sustainable development within five years.

Dr. Olajide Akinyemi said this during the inauguration of Forum of MSME last week Thursday at the conference room of Raw Material Research Development Council (RMARD), Abuja.

Dr. Akinyemi pointed that the 5years plan of the organization is meant to address economic challenges of MSME in the country as about 40 million people are targeted to be elevated from poverty through sustainable strategy of loan provision for several products generation through an established bank with other policies to confront our economic challenges.

The chairman stressed the need to utilize the strength of MSME to unbundle 40 million people wallowing in poverty, saying there is need for the government and private stakeholders to work together for the growth of our economy with functional private sector being at the driver’s seat.

Akinyemi noted ‘’ if we have our own bank we will know where the issue is. We know how to regulate funding, the growth and development of MSME in Nigeria. So the five year development strategic plan will address all these factors into a policy. The bank we are planning will be the biggest in Africa through donation of one thousand naira each’’

Speaking on energizing MSME in the country’s economy,  the president of the Forum,  Alhaji Garba Ibrahim Gasau pointed that the new policy is basically meant to develop micro, small and medium enterprises, saying the unification of all these businesses on a  page would enhance economic growth of our nation.

 Mrs. Rose Gyar,  the DG Global Human Empowerment Entrepreneurship Development (GLOCHEED), and a BOT member of  MSME Forum stressed the need for government to focus more on the private sector through improvement on processing infrastructure, and creation of friendly environment  for businesses growth and to take advantages of African Continental free trade areas.
